Re: 600rr

I have an 03 i went up two in the rear and stock in the front. Rpms are a little crazy for highway 6th 80 mph at 8000 give or take.

Re: 600rr

you don't need to change the gearing if you are riding just for streetbike......mine rocked whoolies all day long on the highway bone stock. If you want a bit more get a 2 up rear and leave it at that.....F4i sprockets are 3 upin the rear, so not too big of a difference. I went one down, seven up and everything was a lot more fun, but it was running crazy RPM's when running.

Decide what you wanna do on it and where then gear from there.....-1/+7 was good for 2nd gear spreaders on the highway and 3rd/4th gear low rpm standups on the highway.......not sure goin up 2-3 on the rear would make it as easy for that, unless you weigh like 140pounds (I weigh 250+)

yeah +2/+3 rear is plenty for that......you could do it stock if you wanted, if you wanna turn up your idle do a search on here for the idle screw mod.... idle works alot better once you've done that

140 pounds...hahahaha I was just joking......can't imagine how my bike would loft up on the highway if it was only my left leg on the bike

Re: 600rr

Hi, noob here. I'm thinking of upgrading to a newer bike. I hear the cbr600 is NOT the best for stunting, but I like it. I'm a light weight at 125. Does anyone think it would wheelie on just throttle? Or would it be a better idea to go up two in the back first? OR door number three is...get a gixxer750?
I want a bike thats streetable, but can do the occasional wheelie or stoppie. I'd welcome any advice. Thanks

05 600RR would be a great bike......leave the gearing alone and ride REAL wheelies and use your clutch to clutch it up. Front forks and brakes are plenty good to roll endoes and the bike has more power than you will be able to tap for quiet awhile. Gixxer 750 is a good bike, easier to work on, more parts tend to break, but there tend to be more parts available on ebay for it. In my opinion....BUY HONDA....they've always treated me right, for a long time(since age 5, I know, I know, I'm only 23)

Re: 600rr

I thought you guys might say that it has plenty of power for me, especially considering my weight. I'm slow to learn endoes, but I'm learning wheelies for now. My real question is, can a 600rr wheelie with throttle only? If not, then can I do it without abusing or busting the clutch too bad?

don't be another red stain on the highway from doing stupid fast power wheelies .....learn to do it right and use the clutch......yes, the bike will power wheelie fine, I do have to admit that I did em on my 600RR with stock gearing. But now i ave seen the light, and its alot less GAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY than power whoolies.

Your clutch in that bike was made to race....slipping the clutch.....if you are "popping" the clutch to pull it up, it will be fine.....I had 30,000+ miles on my 600RR before the motor told me to F off......ONE CLUTCH......new motor has about 2500 miles onit, OEM clutch, and I have no plans on replacing it anytime soon....and I clutch EVERY wheelie

Re: 600rr

Thanks guys, that answered my question.
Right now I'm on a Ninja 250. I have to clutch it and rev up to
around 8 or 9k just to get a decent wheelie. I'm getting bored with it,
and rather than give it new gearing, I'm going to graduate to a bigger bike. I just hope I don't get bored of a 600 as fast as I did the 250.
