Gonna be picking up an 02 R6 shortly and was wondering the pro's and con's of the bike. Im getting a deal i cant pass on, so dont tell me to get a 636 or an f4i. Just want to know what the deal is on the R6??? So any input would be appreciated....... I know it's carbed and that doesn't bother me either.

 

it's an awesome bike and pretty durable. I had an 02 R6 and dropped that shi7 a million times, once going 55mph and road away from that. Only problem was the clip-ons braking off from slamming the front down hard while learning 12's and sub-frame loosening up at the mounts from first scrapes . Great for stoppies too :YEAH Had -1, +7 and that worked great! I have an extra tank and front rim for it if ya want.

Put a GPR on it. I have a FI cage I'll sell ya and some extra plastics, clip-ons, dented tank. I didn't have any problems with mine.

 

havnt had any problems out of mine...make sure u keep those carbs clean and u will be good to go.
ive wrecked mine pretty hard a couple of times and the only thing that broke was my right clip on and brake lever.
oh yeah definatly get u a steering damper for it.

 

Def keep them carbs clean and keep an eye on the left side front motor brace near the heads... It's known for cracking easy..

 

not to jack a post but whats the best way to clean out those carbs my boy has one and it runs like crape because of them

umm i have one... i have dropped it twice and i my self have to say its the weakest pos i have ever rode. First wreck looped a endo and bent the subframe and second wreck looped a wheelie and and broke the right clip on right rear set bent both wheels and all the farings are gone. Oh and also the forks need to be straightened and something is fugked with the rear susp.

i got one. 2yrs of beating on it so far and it runs fine. watch out for left side motor mount and oil gets sucked into my airbox when im on the bar so do the whole catch can thing

 

nah just get a Gixxer!

 

they are fun bikes. biggest problem i've had are the clip ons from 2 seperate ocations breaking. get some woodcrafts so you only have to replace a 14$ bar insead of a $75 piece.

i got mine for $1500. almost as good.

 

Definatly go to aftermarket clip-ons so you dont kill yourself, and if u plan on doing anything on the bar, rerout the crankcase breather so u dont fill the air box with oil!!
