Been working on staggered standups, and...

It feels like I have to have an ankle on a 180% hinge to reach my rear brake. Do you guys adjust your rear levers for this sh*t, or just get used to feeling like you're trying to touch your shin with your toes?

The rear brake should be about an inch farther away from your foot being at a 90 degree angle.

Re: Been working on staggered standups, and...

i took off my brake lever, and had a piece welded onto it (about an inch) so i could reach it better....i dunno if it was bent before i got it, or if the F3 was wust put in that position, but it wasn't adjustable, so i improvised....now i can reach it easier, but it still takes some getting used to....on my gixxer it's just the opposite..up too far, so getting to the break isn't a problem

Re: Been working on staggered standups, and...

i dont have it yet, but if you ar having that problem i venture to say you are humping the tank. lean back and your foot will reach the brake in a natural position...

Re: Been working on staggered standups, and...

Well ive tried that...for sit downs since Im pushing all the way back that I can then my foot does naturally point forward and covers the rear brake without discomfort...but when i try my gahbage stand-ups it still feels kinda weird.

Re: Been working on staggered standups, and...

it also helped me to stand on my heal, instead of the arch of my foot...giving me more flex, and i still do it like that

Uh what? You said it feels like you're trying to touch your shin, which would mean the brake lever is too far up...

Yeah, it felt like it was too far up. I actually realized I was humping the tank, as said above. Scooting back a little on the pegs helped a lot. Thanks for the input guys.

Re: Been working on staggered standups, and...

I literally have no one left to take pics at the moment...all my close friends I ride with are in one stage of recovery or another from cars hitting them or other random crashes. Just keep working. At first even putting my leg back there fealt weird, I just practiced doing stuff with my leg back, like romping off curbs etc. to get used to the feeling of the bike moving around and jarring me with my foot back on the passenger peg. Then it was just a matter of actually getting the front passed the 2nd gear "hump".

Re: Been working on staggered standups, and...

alot of ppl don't straighten out their left leg (which helps more than you think) it also helps to rock the bike back further, and you can see better...just try it a few times, and you'll like it better...straighten it out slowly, as the bike is coming up

and try to not end up infront of you bike by using the HB.... HB+engien brake= you over the bike or busted nut's, no kids... grab the clutch as you land the front wheel.

i tried that, and i can't manage to work my clutch while on a wheelie maybe if i had a hydraulic clutch it's be easier, but i need 3 fingers just to pull my clutch in......but whats the point in grabbing the clutch when you land the fron wheel? only time i try to use the clutch is to fall back on the 12 bar once im past BP.

Re: Been working on staggered standups, and...

I use my clutch right when my tire touches back down. As far as I know, it just puts less strain on the motor. Other than that I don't see the point of it. But for me at least, I prefer to do that than let my engine wind down, making a hell of a racket as it does so. If you don't wind the gear out like me and my squidly non-balanced wheelies, it might not apply to you.

well..im not chasing my wheelies to the rev limiter, only prob i have is the bike stalling (yes the idle is turned up) and when the wheel comes down it pop starts the bike (if i pulled in the clutch it wouldn't) my wheelies are still choppy though here is a short video of the bike stalling on me @ 12
