Moto-Heaven Stunt/Street Chain/Sprocket

2001 Honda F4i - Went with -1 / +10 525 Kit.

When I put the chain on it seems way too long. I spoke with Phil when I ordered it and he said he knew exactly what I needed. What am I doing wrong?

If I put the chain on, and just place the master clip in place, crank the adjuster pins all the way back the chain is still too long - is it normal to have to drop off 3 or links?

Any insight appreciated.
Thanks,
Kerry

yes... its a universal chain, meaning it comes in one lenth. you then trim it to what you need. when i put my new chain on the last time i took like 10 links out of it

Yes. To me it makes more sense to ask a question, than to possibly trash a new chain.

Kind of the point of a forum, to ask a question you're unsure of hoping others can assist you with their knowledge versus hassle you for asking a question.

You need to measure how many links you need. On the link you want to remove take a cutting wheel to the rivets on both sides, and either use a chain breaker or a vice and center punch to push the rivet out.

I cut the links out that were not needed.

Thanks.

I'm sorry I offended you, and you're right, I'd much rather ask a question before throwing away $150.
