Body Work Help

I have a yellow and black 929... and I cannot stand the stickers... the white on the tail, and the yellow strips. Now, I took a hair dryer and used that to warm it up and the sticker came off like nothing, but I have some residue left on the paint...

Does anyone have any idea what kind of compound to use that will not screw up the paint???

Thanks for the help!

Re: Body Work Help

Goo Gone works. Also, fast dry enamel reducer.

Do a search. This has been covered in the forum a few times in the last month.

Re: Body Work Help

Get a can of Spray Carb Cleaner.......will take the glue right off, then just wash the plastic down with soap and water.

Re: Body Work Help

3M Adhesive remover. Works like a champ. After that use 3M rubbing compound, then follow that with 3M finishing compound.

Re: Body Work Help

yeah, we use fast dry enamel reducer at the detail shop i work at. just wash and wax when your done.

edit: Im pretty sure you can get it at most auto parts stores. Test a small spot to make sure it wont take paint off right away. (it usually wont hurt a cured factory finish)

Brake cleaner works pretty damn good too. I use it all the time to clean the spray-can overspray off my frame without damaging the factory paint.
