I think he meant practicing what he was going to do while the bike was parked....

But yeah forget skitchin. You do it once and you realize it's not a trick. Maybe off the back for shows but no need to skitch off the side.

Another reason not to shift gears is without being comfortable at balance point and having good brake/throttle control, you're asking for 4 week vacation to the hospital. Unless you are looking for an adrenaline rush as opposed to clean smooth tricks.

If u want to do it though try putting the gas tank underneath your armpit. this way you have good control over the bike. to get back on simply put your OUTSIDE foot back on the peg. this way you can swing your inside foot back over the saddle. try at like 15 20 so u have enough speed to keep the bike sraight and if u eat it you will walk away.

Ok Not to argue but what im sayin is i roll the throttle to get the wheelie up. from 8 grand. then i chop the throttle till i find the balance point. i swear to you. i just learned it today i hold hte throttle at 12 grand and its steady

Damn straight. I agree. shifting alone in a wheelie after a month is awesome. but wheelies are like science. everytime you improve a whole other ballgame opens. so when i say good throttle/brake control im talking about to doing coasters and all that stuff. I'm not even at that level. I can ride idle and i want to kill myself when i think how good my brake/throttle control is.
