gsxr engine swap
gsxr engine swap
i have an 03 gixxer 600 with a trans problem, so for the price of fixing the trans i bought a wrecked 01 gixxer 750. i have all wires and harnesses from the 750 and the ecu its still on the frame.what will it take to put the 750 engine on the 600 frame?
Re: gsxr engine swap
well if my understanding is correct, then ur mounts wont line straight up. think they are slightly out on the 750's to the 600's. if i am right than u will have to start doin some mods bro. dont quote me on this though hope this helps
Re: gsxr engine swap
thanks, i found a site awhile ago that was swapping in 1000 engines in 600 and 750 frames. sent them an email, see what they have to say. i hope theres some kind of kit for the swap, i sure would hate chopping it up.

Re: gsxr engine swap
I put an 04 600 in an 02 600 frame without a kit. Made a custom spacer for the right side and just left 1 of the 2 bolts on the left side out. Its been a full season and no problems.....................
Might be worth a try since you already have the engine and frame

Here is a idea for you and it will work, cut the motor mounting brackets that are on the frame the ones that don't line up, you want to cut them where they are welded on, I have a set of 750 brackets, i put a 600 motor in a 750 thats the reason i have them and know this works. You want to put the motor in the frame, take the brackets i have and bolt them up to the motor. Now it all lines up, all you have to do is get the frame brackets spot welded. Take the motor out and get your welder to weld the inside of the brackets. When this is all done and if he is a good welder it will look like a stock 750 frame. Its sounds like a pain but its very eazy and looks the better then hacking your frame all up. If you have any other questions pm me your number and i can explain it better. As you can see i am not the best at writing.

It's not bad the worst part about it is finding a good welder, make sure you find a good one or it could look like sh?t. I am sure you know this but all those wiring harness are different. So if you use a 750 motor you need to use the 750 harness and ecu, same goes for the 600.
