Re: how to remove gas tank lid w/o key
ok heres how u do it.........dont pay ****, dont call anyone
steps.....
1. get a decent size flat head, put it in the key hole.
2. while the screw driver is inplace take a hammer and smack the screw driver....but not to hard DONT WACK THE **** OUT OF IT....
3. while screw driver is inplace grab a pair of channel locks and twist the screw driver and pop the lock......
ive also see a tool to do it.....take a decent size flat head, bend the tip like an inch long 90 degress and do the steps. but instead of pliers u just swing the screw driver and it pops the lock....
make this **** a sticky....

Re: how to remove gas tank lid w/o key
Mine is drilled out, and then the lock was removed.
Only problem now is fastening down the gas cap. I took two of the allen head cap screws out on the circumference ring and put large washers on them to hold the cap shut. I just cant forget the allen wrench when I need to fill up.
Also, gas leaks out of where the lock used to be. Nothin some duck tape doesnt remedy....
