Question f4i wont start!

I took off the fairings to paint a few pieces, also removed the wiring that comes in from the headlights to the bike, thats it. didnt mess with anything near the battery or fuses. now once I put all the plastics back on the bike just cranks and cranks but wont turn over for ****. I noticed that once all the fairings were off the bike didnt start, I assumed this was some sort of safety mechanism. def not the battery, bike will crank forever until it dies .. just wont fricken start!

bike is a 2003 f4i

any help/ideas on this much appreciated.

im not to good with F4i's, but i think their Tip-Over-Sensor is located in the front, maybe you mounted it wrong or forgot to plug it in, that's what it sounds like the problem is to me, something with the TOS.

Re: f4i wont start!

there are top little black boxs (F.I. stuff) and then above those is the tip-over sensor. either reconnect that, or by pass it.

to bypass it cut all the wires off. leave the white wire hanging (tape it off so it doesnt make contact with anything else tho) not wire the green and red wires together.... now you should be ready to roll.

if its still not running go into your fuse box and you most likly blew the tip over sensor fuse.

post up if that doesnt work.

Re: f4i wont start!

good ****, im not getting stuntlife mails for some reason.

that sounds right about the fuse, I def connected it back right but maybe the fuse is toast. I'll wind up bypassing it anyway thanks.

Re: f4i wont start!

well it didnt work out so well. so the tip over sensor is completely cut and the wires remaining from the upper wired together (r/g) with white by itself.

lol ..the horn fuse bites it everytime I try and start the bike. whos guess

Re: f4i wont start!

ok.

stopped blowing fuses. but, when the key is flicked on I dont hear the FI come on at all. unless I turn the on/off switch to off and hit the start button, then I hear it kick on .. nice.

disconnect the bulb from the low beam. Or wire it to the high beam

Re: f4i wont start!

question, does the f4i have any mechanism that prevents it from starting without the turn signals plugged in?
