spongy rear break and fuked up front
spongy rear break and fuked up front
so yeah, 90% of teh time my rear break has about 10% breaking power and the other 10 has teh full brakeing power... wtf... i have to pump it to get it to lock up??? anybody got any ideas? also, my front brake is hard as hell to pull in i have to lift teh lever up a lil and slide back, and its liek its geting stuck or suttin on teh sides, cause it slides back in spirts... like goes from normal to hard every 1/16 of an inch or so... its like _/_/_/_/_/ untill i get it all the way in ... im goign to try to ajust the lever when i wake up and see if that helps..

It happens sometimes Ive gotten spongy breaks from cooking the fluid, fluid turns watery and lets air past the seals. Change all the fluid out for fresh stuff bleed it real good and go for a good ride, if it gets spongy again look futher into it. Could also be a warped rotor or blown rear MC or caliper seals.
But like I said its probably just bad fluid or just needs bleeding.

the front master cylinder is probably rusted or dirty, clean and stuff some grease into the little rubber boot that the lever pushes in, and work it in. also bleed the front fluid.
The rear may be either boiling fluid (try to bleed with ABS 5.1, it has a higher boiling temp, and is compatable with dot4) or could simply be a warped rotor. (warped rotor will sometimes push pads away from the rotor surface causing you to pump them in order to get a grab again.)
