02 gsxr 1000 **** FOR POWER-SLOOOWWWW

alright-heres the deal

Im having some problems with my bike, until now i didnt know existed. Im hoping someone here can help me out.

alright guys-heres my configuration:

2002 gsxr 1000
stock internals
nikko gpak (tre)
pc3
bmc race filter
velocity stacks
vortex gearing (-2, +2)
full system devil highmount exhaust

the basic problem is.........ITS SLOW AS DIRT!! The bike runs great, rides great, doesnt miss, sputter, have any weird noises/vibrations/misses, etc, but its just not fast-I got my **** handed to me by a stock (geared similarly to mine anyway-only mods) 2002 750!! The bike has always seemed quick, and I've never had any issues with it-there has been no abrubt change, and its only got 4k miles on it-WHY ARENT I FAST!! Besides the apparant lack of power, everything seems normal. The pc3 has the proper map in it, and its going to the dyno the beginning of the month for a tune-but i DOUBT I'm losing that much power-Its really dissapointing, someone help me out!!

PS-theres a few UNNAMED FOCKERS HERE that need to be quieted by my once fast bike-but right now, my bike sucks soooo much *** it would never be able to do it. helpabrothaout

Re: 02 gsxr 1000 **** FOR POWER-SLOOOWWWW

750s are fast bikes. probably as fast as 954s. i can see one beating a 1k in the hands of a good rider. once you get past 125hp it is all up to the rider on the streets.

that is funny though "I got beat by a slower bike, so there must be something wrong with my bike"

Not sure if you're down on power? Get it dynoed.

Re: 02 gsxr 1000 **** FOR POWER-SLOOOWWWW

ive seen a 03 gsxr 1k run a 04 750 gixxer , the 1k messed up somewhat but not bad , but enough for the 750 to hand him his ***. gixxer 750"s are quick dude , there probably aint **** wrong with your bike , he probably just out rode you.

Were you racing from a dead stop? My 954 and a buddies GSXR1000 got our butts handed to us by a GSXR600. The thing hooked up quicker. Our bigger bikes would wheelie because there was too much power. Once our bikes were moving, we would smoke anything (that was before gearing. haha!). Also, my 954 would hang/beat two different 2003 GSXR1000s. I highly doubt a 750 would be comparable.

are you familiar with launching your bike correctally, it might be your not launching right, if dude is pwning you with his 750 chances are he can launch that ****er right and hooki up quicker , and probley hits his powerband a second or two before you.

If your 954 beat two 03 1ks, then the other guys just can't ride, you're down about 20hp on them. A 750 definetly just as fast as a 954.
To the other guy if you really want to see if something is wrong with your bike race him from a 100+ roll, down low it's all close, up top is where you should start to walk him. Or go get your bike dynoed, with those mods you should be pushing around 160 +- at the wheel.

True. Sorry Stunna for misstating that fact. My bike had a few mods done to it, including a full race Akrapovic exhaust, K&N filter, and PC3. Their GSXRs had slight mods, but nothing substantial. I'd guess we were within 5hp of each other, making it a fair game. Anyway, it always came down to who got better shifts. No one would blame the bikes. Pick your pride up off the floor and go at it again. That's my advice!

doodle-**** you ***-go **** up someone elses thread-this is about the bike i ride daily (not the stunter) having issues-im asking for help, not your adolescent angst-**** off

as for the rest of you-i know how to ride-my first thought was that i sucked, so i put the bike in the hands of someone more capable, who also got his *** handed to him-the bikes slooowww-it has nothing to do with me-figures the first thing half you retards do is jump to conclusions.

the bike runs smooth, so im assuming its running on all cylinders. The tre is a g-pak, comes pre-wired with stock plugs, so I figure that ***** good too. I was beat around a 50 mph ROLL ON-so launch isnt an issue-the powers just NOT THERE!!

NOTE-if you dont want to help-then get the **** out of my thread

Well man you havent described any symptoms of a messed up 1000 gixxer. Either you and your buddy cant ride which is why the 750 blows past you guys from a roll on , or you have a proplem. The way you described your bike everyone has given it there best shot . If you still think its **** slow take it to a dealer man have the motor checked , maybe theres a proplem you dont know about. Hope you figure it out
