636 Engine Whine.
Ok.my Cam Chain Was Rattling And I Was Going To Reset It Or Whatever.well Iguess It Hooked The Next Notch Because It Quit Rattling.now It Has A Whining Noise.i Figure When The Tensioner Hooked The Next Notch Now It Is A Little To Tight So I Get This Whining Noise.i Figure It Will Just Loosen Back Up And The Mechanics At My Work Said It Is Nothing To Worry About But They Dont Stunt And I Ride My Bike Pretty Damn Hard.anybody With Similar Experiances?????
Re: 636 Engine Whine.
yeah its def. too tight if its whining...but i wouldnt just let it go. Back it offa bit. If your not already, adjust it while the bike is running..tighten till you hear a slight whine, then back off a bit till it goes away. Bam. tighten back up the lock nut and yer set. But if you leave it tight you risk snappin the chain. (up **** creek)

Well im assuming your already running a manual tensioner, so if thats the case you can go two ways. either take off the right plastic and squeeze to it from there, or have someone hold the tank over and go through the top.
