Dude, just take the stock one to a decent welder. Have him cut off the end cap, then cut off 3 or 4 inches of it and reweld it on. 3 or 4 inches will give you the clearance and it'll still be way past that mounting bracket.

Re: wich exhaust to get ?honda f4i

Tell me if this is stupid. I had a couple different pipes on my 01 f4i and they weren't loud enough for me. Soooo is said the hell with it and cut the ****er off and put on a polished exhaust tip barelly sticking out from the lower fairing. It sounds great and has people staring like what the **** is that. But will it end up damaging anything in the motor like the valves. I have never seen or heard of anyone doing this before, just wondering.

Re: wich exhaust to get ?honda f4i

Just my , but I have a D&D slip on on my ZX-10R, and it sounds great, but the cops are all over it. (Registered 156.4 dB at WOT at a loud pipes contest tonight!). If you don't want to be harassed by the cops, stay w/ the stock pipe cut down, or a quiet aftermarket pipe. Although, with a loud pipe, if you get a cop that's not a ****, he might just write you for the loud pipe instead of a moving violation.

The FMF shorty pipes have not yet been released for public sale... They are still in the R & D phase. Hopefully sometime in the spring they will be available... Until then I can get you a decent price on a stock length one...
