I dont have the key for the tank/ignition/seat
Is there a way that any of you know of, how to drill out the lock or something? i dont want to take the tank off and mess wtih the fuel pump or anything, so how do i break in this sucker??

Same deal with the seat, gotta get a new lock for the seat, how do i drill these *****es out.

I wouldn't drill out the gas tank, metal shavings going in there are never good. Can't you just take a big screwdriver, hammber it into there and twist till you break the little pins?

 

I bought a tank off ebay that still had the cap on it, tried drilling it out but didn't work, i drilled the **** out of it tried taking a screwdriver in and poping the lock but couldn't get enough leverage on the screwdriver to really twist it hard. I ended up just taking the hex bolts off the outer ring and it pryed out really easy with the screwdriver and didn't damage anything.

 

ok heres how ya do it

step 1. get a nice size flat head screw driver, stick it in the key hole.

step 2. take a hammer, hit the top of the screw driver ( now dont go beating it to death cause u dont have to hit it that hard.

step 3. once the screw driver is wedged in there good enough, use channel locks on the handle of the screw driver to turn it and bust the pins.

works every time

yup or you can make you a tool like the pioneers of bike theivery use, and take a good sized flathead screwdriver and put it in a vice, then bend the end like one inch, to 90 degrees, then follow GSE nicks steps, but minus the vice grips

 

the tool i seen was a SCRED DRIVER TIP on a RATCHET...knock the tip in, and turn the ratchet.....it'll pop any lock/ignition

 

You can drill them and its the eazist way to go. First take a grinder and grind the lip down that holds the lock cylinder in, make it flush. Then take a drill and drill out the front and back of the lock cylinder, hold the drill at different angles till you go threw the lock cylinder. As soon as the set has broken you just pull it out will a pair of needle nose's. You will see a slit in the hole turn that with a screw driver and you are done. Only way you are going to get metal in the tank is if you are a total idiot. The lock cylinder is a softer metal and you will be able to telll when you go threw all of it. Its really simple and only take a few min's. Now if you have a gsxr 00-03 style, you can just take the allen's out and brake that ring, then take a screw driver and pry the gas cap off. Just my 4 cents
