ZX-6R 636 oil pickup?

Hi there,

does anyone know if it is difficult to change the oil pickup in the engine for a Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 from 2003 or 2004, because i'm thinking to buy this bike in a matter of time.
And what do you need to change exactly, I don't really no because I've stunted only 2 strokes before.
any tips would be great!

thanks

Re: ZX-6R 636 oil pickup?

I dont believe there is a problem with the oil pickup in the motor, mine seems to do just fine and from what Ive heard noone else has had a problem with the pickup either.......One major down fall to this bike (I have an 03 myself) is on 12's the oil that dumps into the air box......Ive been lookin into the fix on that and from what Ive heard 2 PCV valves do the trick, not to sure on the specific type or exactly how to do it, so hopefully some1 can help us both out...

Re: ZX-6R 636 oil pickup?

Ok thanks for the fast reactions!
But what did you changed exactly (RuffRyder99 or other people with ZX6R 03/04) in the engine.
You get the engine cover off, and then...
Do you need to buy some extra things to do it?

thanks for the help! :YEAH

2 pcv valves the line from the crankcase to the box, or......Cap off the breather tube on the back of the motor and drill a hole in top the valve cover and put a crankcase breather on it. Kinda like whats on racer Civics.

And run them so the air box can breath into the crankcase? or vice versa?

Maybe a dumb question, but isnt that where the oil is comein from which would mean that oil is still gonna dump into the air box?
