929 won't start in gear?
Ok, this is buggin me now.
I have tried to find what is causing it but haven't seen any disconnected wire or anything like that.
I know my 929 used to start when in gear. Something happened and now I have to be in neutral to start it up. This is really inconvenient to not be able to start the bike in 1st.
Someone has to have ran across this before.
Anyone?
Thanks.

For the record the bike starts and runs fine, it'll shift INTO 1st and I can ride away, I just can't start the bike while it's in gear. So I'm pretty sure that means it has nothing to do with the kickstand switch.
With answers like that it's no wonder you can't find your electrical problem.

Yeah it's the clutch switch, mine is busted so it doesn't start with gear on. Only neutral. but I think the 954 runs different ecu map for neutral and maybe also when clutch is pulled, so I'm not sure what it does if you just shortcut those clutch wires.

Re: 929 won't start in gear?
Ok that was it.
Guess I needed someone to say it for me to take a closer look at the clutch switch. Here I am figuring if the two wires are connected I should be good to go. Turns out if I touch them together it starts in gear.
I pulled the switch apart and the stupid little button that goes in and out when you pull in the lever is stuck.
Thanks for the info, that was easier than I was thinkin it would be.
