Re: How Long Does Your Rear Tire Last?

It depends on the tire. I used to run Metzeler M-1's and i averaged about 2500 - 3000 miles on them. No burnouts. Just highway wheelies and ****. I switched to a Metzeler ME-Z4 and i have about 5,500 miles on it and it's still in decent shape.

Re: How Long Does Your Rear Tire Last?

Low pressure tears tires up too! Especially on the road! (not in the lot)

i use whatever i find in the dumpster for rears so I'm pretty good at changing them now! Oh that and we usually blow AT LEAST one tire at every show (1-2 shows a weekend) so we get a lot of practice changing them there too... It's great watching the faces of the spectators as i change a blown tire in about 5 minutes... they are like, "It took the shop 2 ****IN DAYS! WTF!!!" AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHA

I hear ya John, once you get used to changing tires, people watch and wonder why it take shops so long to do it. and they have the air powered machine to help them out!

Re: How Long Does Your Rear Tire Last?

I just got shinko sport touring 009 rear tires. They are awesome so far. Plenty of burnouts on them and you can't even tell. I'll never buy a different tire again. I got em for $65 shipped in July during some x-mas in july sale online.

Re: How Long Does Your Rear Tire Last?

I've put 8k on a micheline pilot sport rear with a couple of burnouts in there. It's about time to get a new one though but I'll make it last the rest of the season.
I just threw a new bridgestone 014 on the front, man that thing is sticky, I love it.

Re: How Long Does Your Rear Tire Last?

in my opinion metzlers are the best if you dont mind the short wear time. that battleaxe last forever but if you do burnouts it gets greasy and wont grip, its a *****

Re: How Long Does Your Rear Tire Last?

I get about 2 years out of a tire at ~25 psi

unless I let one of my stupid friends try my bike and he lets all the air out, tries right circles for a whole day and ****s up the tire right there.
