First off buy a break bleeder, you should be able to get them through your local auto parts store. And second make sure your o-ring in the cylinder is alright, they tend to break alot. Also you will have to put some exhaust straps (Like on your radiator hoses) on it so the gp fitting does not continue to be pushed out.

Re: moto heaven hand brake is soft?

i was thinking of wraping the line with something because the brake line runs right by the rad hose. brake bleeder? something like a pump were is this o ring located. today was the first day using it and i got the seat standers slow as hell but when i scrape it it seems like i have all the brake pulled in and theirs no more left to bring me back just keeps falling over.

Re: moto heaven hand brake is soft?

If your running the whole moto heaven setup than you will have there own brake master cylinder and lever setup. On that setup wht the lever is there will be a setting that you can change to give it a softer or harder feel. It will take a flat head screwdrive to adjust it and that should help things out alot, just make sure you dont adjust it super tight because when your rear brakes heat up it will cause it to stick and then youll have to adjust the piece back out.

Re: moto heaven hand brake is soft?

Yeah bro they have pretty good stuff but you definitely have to watch out for the seals where the gp tech fitting goes, cause sometimes they will break and when that happens there goes your hb. LOL. Thats why I am fixin to weld my fitting on my rear master cylinder. NO More Leaks and No More Orings to bust. LOL.. OOOHHH and No More hose clamps.

Good luck and keep us posted on how it runs. My boy was having the same problems you are having thats why I kind of know what is going on. Good to have a test dummy ridin with you to test everything out. LOL

Peace Justin

Ps, try taking a screwdriver and opening the caliper ALL the way... then bleed them, then repeat. I had to do this before I got my handbrake to work... PS, re-use your fluid when bleeding, no need to use 2 bottles.

Exactly, after pumping a bunch out I finally ran a long clear hose from the bleeder to the resivoir so it would just recirculate. Also with the clear hose you can see the bubbles and know when they stop. Do the caliper thing also, I had a TON of air trapped in mine.

Re: moto heaven hand brake is soft?

Yeah Ive never run anything except for DOT 4 which has been good for me. Ohh and yeah you definitely need to keep a flat head screwdriver with you so you can dial it in while your at the spot. I guess I forgot to mention that too you. LOL. Once you dial it in, it should be good for a little while until either the seal brakes or the line just gets some air in it. Every so often we have to rebleed my boys so it stays stiff but thats fixin to change once we aluminum weld the tech fittings to the actual rear master cylinder.

Peace Justin
