alright heres the deal, just got this bike last week, put in a new battery, bike ran fine. went to jump the tip-over sensor, bike would start, fuel pump wouldnt come on, everything else was fine. went over a few things, computer, ignition, clutch sensor, neutral safety switch. found out it was the front wire harness, replaced it, jumped the tip-over, ran great. heres the messed up part, when i go to hoist it up, whether in a sitdown, or standup, alot of the times it will come part of the way up, and the fi light will come on and it will bog out a lil. every now and then it will stall completely and the bright headlight dummy light comes on, and the bike wont start, fuel pump wont come on. shake around the front harness and it will start up. i have a few ideas, but i want to see if anyones had the same problem. let me know, thanks

check every connection around the intake...even the airbox..

check for rubbed wires. my f4i did the same thing. fixed two wires and now it runs great, but the FI light is still on. I'm not worried about that as long as it runs 100%.

yes sounds like you have a cut or rubbing wire maybe even a ground. let us know when you find it what it is

the FI light will only come on if it thinks that the mixture's wrong (especially if it's a Cali model and you've bypassed the CAT)

nah, it can come on if you forget to plug one of the connectors in. like the main injector relay which i forgot to plug in everytime..lol

alright, i got it fixed. the connector between the main harness and the headlight/front harness had a wire that was somewhat pulled out. enough so that on the other side if the wire was moved slightly it would kill the fuel pump and then let it come back on. it was a green wire, i am guessing that goes to the tipover switch. real test is tonite. i am praying it works.
