difficulty level?

needless to say my bike got thrashed after a friend bailed on a 12 oclock wheelie and dumped it on the left side... how difficult would it be to someone with fairly limited mechanical skills to remove/replace the left case cover stator cover and gasket and rear shock... bodywork ive changed/painted, but actual mechanical jobs ive never tried(first time for everything i guess)

also, the tip over switch, is that a replacable part or something that can just be reset?

thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions/help

Re: difficulty level?

the left case cover is easy to replace. just take off the left plastics and lay the bike on the right side (if you don't want to drain and change the oil). Then simply take the bolts out of the stator cover, scrape the engine block surface cleen, and bolt on the new stator cover. It would be a good idea to have a torque wrench so you don't break or strip the bolts. If the tip over switch isn't broken, it will reset itself when you turn the key off, then on again. Don't know anything about replacing the rear shock, but i'm guessing that's a little more complicated being that it's under pressure (i think).

Re: difficulty level?

The rear shock and spring should come out as one piece, only one bolt on top and one on bottom. Have to remove the tail subframe etc to get to it though
