F2 Electrical Short in the on/off switch?

I am battling an electrical short that keeps roasting my battery. Straight up, after like 10 hours the battery dies and will not hold a charge. My local shop tested it and found the short to be in on/off switch, which is attached to the throttle. My friend soldered it up and the bike seemed to work but the damn thing just fried another one.

I am thinking about mounting an Auto Zone on/off switch and eliminating the stock one. If I do that I will probably need a new throttle system. Has anyone had a problem like this? If so what is the best remedy? If I need a new throttle system, are there any durable aftermarket throttles that anyone can suggest?

A Switch Will Not Roast Your Battery, That Would Be A Charging Problem. Honda Switches Are Known To Go Bad Though, So If That Really Is Your Problem Just Replace It. Not Sure On A F2, But Dont The Throttle Cables Run Through The Switch?

Yes, the throttle cable runs through the switch. The switch needs to be replaced. My thought is that if I replace the Honda switch with my own, it might be more durable and will definitely be cheaper to fix if it breaks again. Now, if I do replace the on/off switch I would want to mount it on the bars, by the throttle, but it wont fit if I leave the stock throttle and switch on the bike. For that reason I am thinking of getting an after market throttle and a new switch. What do you guys think? Bad/Good idea? What problems do you forsee?

I was told that it is not a charging problem. What can I look at to find out if it definitely is/isn't a charging problem? If I start the bike and disconnect the power source, the bike runs and all the lights work fine. If I connect the burt out battery and start the bike with another power source, it stalls immediately. Also, when the battery dies, the lights flicker, the tach jumps all around from 2-5K and the bike eventually stalls.
