Re: sprocket installation

i just changed mine on my 05, you will need a 10mm, 12mm, wrenches, the tool kit with the bike for the axle bolt, metric alen wrenches, i cut my stock chain off becuase i think they are pressed together or something stupid, and most of all go buy a socket to fit the front sprocket bolt, its about impossible without it, the same socket fits your triple tree nut too, it will prolly take 2 hours or so, atleast it did for me becuase i didnt know what to expect so good luck. hope i helped

Re: sprocket installation

if he cut off a the chain you have to use a new one right? then why do you need some special tool to put a master link on? and all i needed for my cbr was the 27mm for the axle and a 14mm to take off the one bolt for the front sprocket and the whatever it was for the 6 on the rear.

Re: sprocket installation

thats what i thought but the chain he bought is the DID X-ring and the master link it came with isnt a regular clip style one. its the rivet style link and u have to have the compressor to tool to put it on. its some BS! and for the front sprocket its a big nut you have to remove its gotta be bigger than a 22m

Re: sprocket installation

put it all together minus the chain, then take it to the shop and have them crimp the master link. any shop worth a **** will do it for free. shops around here will let use what ever tool you need. i think the tool for the master link is like $15. or $6 for a clip master link. anyway good luck
