Re: 929 crash cage

my 905 has held from a couple bad 12 crashes from 5-20mph and a highway fall at around 50mph....both times it held like a champ.

I do want to see an MXD cage up close, as far as what cage to go with, I would go with a 905/MXD/Powers type cage, not a slider style cage like a F.I.

BUT when you reach that elite level, go with an F.I., look good, when you don't wreck as hard/as much.

Re: 929 crash cage

well lets put it this way no bike is saposed to hit the ground andn pancake with or with out a cage 905 are good on a 929 because they do flex and by them flexing you dont have to worrie about a frame breaking on you like i said go with 905 i have had 3 929s and every cage posible for them and 905s are the best

with the number of F4i's stunted, they better be solid!!!!! That should be their number 1 cage. I hope they are solid though, my two buddies got em and HAVE saved the cases and stuff several times, but the straps from the cage to the swingarm has already bent into an almost 90 degree angle and broken at the end it bolts on, and other problems.....it has held up, just not as well as my 905.

Re: 929 crash cage

the 905 ,929 cage is way to big this is why they keep doin more damage then good on alot of peoples bikes, i'm not knocking them as a company they make alot of cool $hit and do alot of good ,but i've either fixed or replased with one of my cages on several bikes just this year

Re: 929 crash cage

the loop design of the F.I. cage (in my oppinion) is bad on bikes like the 954 and 929 because the loop has to be soo long. thats why it bends or breaks motor mounts. it doesnt on the F4i becuase its a shorter loop. a guy in my group has a 905 on his 954 and it holds up ok to slower drops but he said it bends to hell when its droped hard. ive heard nothing but good about powers and mxd on 954's and 929's.

but thats just my

Re: 929 crash cage

i ride a 900RR and the 905 has held up to some sick ****....yes it did bend a bit. but it was being droped from 12 0'clock! i just beat it a bit with a big ****ing hammer and rode again. ive seen it work the same on 929's. some cages are better on certain bikes. but ive seen 900's and 929's role top heavy on other cages and crush the tanks. but ive seen powers and FI cages work well with F4i's.
