2001 gsxr 750?

ok, i rode my bike to work yesterday. on the way there, i had to stop for about minutes. when i went to start the bike and leave, it wouldnt start. it turns over just fine, but it acts like its flooded. i think if i change the plugs it should start just fine, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. or if anyone else can think of what the problem might be. only thing i can think of is plugs, coil, or cdi. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Re: 2001 gsxr 750?

1st you need look if the red light in the rpm meter is on if it is look in the speedometer if you see FI if yes the bike is flooded just leave for a few minutes then start & good to go

2nd if that don't work check all conections use WD40 and spray them up

3rd if that don't work call a machanic

id bet its the plugs. If you dont let the bike warm up long enough, and shut it down . . .foulded out plugs.

Re: 2001 gsxr 750?

well im thinking it might be the fuel pump, i raised the tank and pulled the fuel line. then i hit the starter and no fuel. and yes the tank was full. so im thinking the fuel pump is bad. what do yall think?

Re: 2001 gsxr 750?

Theres an interlock system on your bike when you have a malfunction of the CMP (cam position sensor) the bike wil continue to run but will not restart. This affects the fuel pump. The sighn of this falure is on the lcd display, in user mode, is the coolant temp and FI light will blink .... trust me, or go ask your dealer, ask him to use the dealer mode switch and I garontee the code is "c11".

Re: 2001 gsxr 750?

i've had the worst fuel pump problems on my 02 750. been thru a couple pumps, and a connector. the fuel pump connector likes to loosen up and cause a bad connection. you should be able to hear the pump prime. so if it's not building pressure(spitting fuel out of the fuel line) it's probably not turning on.

ps i got an extra fuel pump if you need it.

Re: 2001 gsxr 750?

ok, im thinkin it has to be the ecm. i bought a fuel pump relay, but that didnt work. tried another fuel pump and nothing. so im guessing the cdi is bad on the FI portion. any ideas? is there anyway to cross wires and make it work temporarily?
