Whats with the uber expensive batts. and plugs?

Since i got my f4i i've been amazed at how much they rip people off for stuff. $25 for each spark plug and $120 for a battery WTF!!! I need a battery though cause mine is totally dead now. Is there any place that sells some for a reasonable price? Or can i make a cheaper batt. fit?

AutoZone!!

NGK B8ES or B9ES plugs = about $1.75 a piece.

Battery.. go to Walmart, $44.99

Dealerships are ripoffs. Having a dealership change a freakin tire is about $50! The local mexican tire shop does that **** for $10 and is faster!

I called all over hell today. No one has em. Autozone, orileys, advance, interstate batteries. They all had it listed but said they didn't have the option to order them and didn't have them in stock. At walmart they only have the 9bs ones like the f3 and f4 used. Its a little taller can i make that fit? I'll have to check on plugs, but right now the battery is priority.

How long did it take to get it from them? I saw they have free shipping but its just ground, i want this battery asap. Thats why i was trying to find one in town and motobatts doesn't have an option for any other shipping than the free ground.

Re: Whats with the uber expensive batts. and plugs?

plugs for an F4i.... its an NGK CR9E

make sure its a 9, becuase that number means what heat the plug runs at. i wouldnt really gamble on a motor that red lines at 14K rpm's

edit: but for a battery, its like a few people said, if it fits then go for it.

Wrong, The batteries at walmart suck and you dont want to use one on an f4i becuase the amperage is different. Also the ones for the f4i are factory closed and the ones at walmart you fill and close. Those batteries suck especially for doing stunts. Ive had 2 like that both of them spilled acid all down my swingarm and rear caliper when doing wheelies. Sportbikes charging systems are designed to work under certain conditions, you go mixing and matching batts that dont fit the criteria right and your going to burn stuff up, i.e. rectifier, stator, battery. Just stick to spec and you'll be ok.

all you guys saying a battery is a battery have no idea what your talking about. do you even know how a battery works??? just cause you got lucky by shotgunning a different battery in a different bike doesn't mean your safe. do what you gotta do tho.
