Use the motor mounts. You will have to make a hole in the plastic on the right and on the left you will have to relocate the coolant overflow or just make a passsage through it

iv layed it down on my left side a few times but i wreched on my right side once and it snapped off. im pretty sure the landing was harsh so sliders will work on those tabs, just not under the whole bike weight being dropped on.

905 cages do not use those little fairing mount tabs, they use the motor mounts. I only know cause I had one on my ZX9R.
I have used a set of sliders on the fairing mount tabs and they absolutely sucked! You are better off not having any protection than use that type on the ZX9R.

I was at work earlier and didn't have the time and the pictures to show in better detail why I hate the fairing mount tab sliders.
Here are some more details on why NOT to use the sliders that mount to the fairing tabs on the ZX9R and ZX6R.
There are instances where the kind of sliders that bolt to the fairing tab may help when the bike takes a fall, but not many in my opinion. I had them on a '98 ZX9R, it fell over at 5 mph and the little bolt snapped instantly and I still had to replace over $800 worth of parts! The '98 was a "nice" bike, not a stunt bike.
The second time I used sliders on the fairing mount tabs was on my '00 ZX9R stunt bike, but this time I decided to "learn from my mistakes and make this product even better by reaming the tab hole a little and use a 3/8 bolt for some more meat hoping that replacing the thin little poor excuse for a slider bolt would solve my problem. Well the next time the bolt didn't break, that is for sure. Instead the tab snapped off the frame and the slider bolt, the fairing mount tab and the butt end of the frame slider punched a hole in the head of my motor. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying this WILL happen to you, but if the side impact is hard enough to snap the tab, which others here have already stated has happened to them, then obviously my situation can happen to you.
Here is a picture of the damage from using a "slightly modified" fairing mount frame slider. Trust me, I'd prefer a busted case cover over a hole in the head....literally.
