CBR1000RR stand-ups

I just bought a new '05 Double R and I am having trouble hanging it up when I pull a stand up. I can rock it for miles sitting down but cant seem to find the BP when standing. If anyone has any input that they think would help, it would be greatly appreciated, and if I sound like a ***** right now, its because I've been trapped inside drinking all day because of the shitty weather here in Minnesota.

some guy I know stands staggered front peg/back peg and clutches it up in 2nd. He has no trouble riding for a mile.

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

thats the way i ride mine right foot back brake and left foot pass peg. it gives you a better feel for the balance because you are standing over the pivot point.

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

its because your to into the bike its almost like your laying up on the tank. but if your standing with your foot on the back peg its a more relaxed feel look at guys when they bend circles theve always got an out rigger posted for balance. go try it out real quick then tell me what you think lol

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

when you stand staggered stance.....front/back.......Do you clutch up second or do you bounce/power wheelie the bike?
Just curious...

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

I power/bounce my 954 but I stand on both front pegs, never tried it front/rear. Do you find that bouncing in a staggered stance throws you off balance as the bike comes up? my bike is stocked geared also, not sure what you are running.

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

tighten up the unitprolink suspension my 600rr would flex super wierd at the swingarm almost like the front was coming up but the azz was staying down, really wierd feeling. then i got it after i tightened up, then a mini van hit it. I think, at least thats what an old person said happened

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

clutchin is the way to go with bike or lil bikes pretty much no matter what stance your at....

and staggered is the way 99% of stand ups should be done

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

with 954 the front/rear peg thing is the best, just clutch it up or power it. you need to provide even pressure to the pegs or you may get some sideways movement. But usually it's ok and it's really easy to control/steer it.

It comes way easier up the sitting down, so don't give it so much throttle. 954 needs very little throttle, you can clutch it up from walking pace(stock gearing, 1st gear).

I just give a very little bounce and she comes straight up at 50mph. I wanted to know if it was possible to clutch 2nd up at around 30mph so I am not traveling so fast on a wheelie? Anyone clutch 2nd at/around 30mph?

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

I can clutch up 2nd at 20 if I want with stock gearing. 30 mph would be fine.

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

Spot your a homo that can't do wheelies anyway regardless of adjustments, sprockets, cage whateva. Thou double R's do just fine regardless of suspension adjustments you know 150 hp's don't need much help.

Re: CBR1000RR stand-ups

WTF is with all the posts still here telling people to power wheelie ****? Clutch...every wheelie.....every bike......every speed. It's really not confusing

I don't give a fvck if you can power your xxxx up in 3rd at 80. I can drive a car with my feet but it don't make it right. The correct way for almost any wheelie is to clutch it! Fuggin bobblehead bouncers.

Ok I'm done ranting.

Clutching is better.
