I have 2 smaller bends on rear and one on front rim lip...holds ok for now...I assume they are from smasing into pavement holes with low tire preassure...don't have any other explanation...

You might be able to bend it back somewhat, but you'll have to heat it up ALOT Thats risky business. Always nice having back up parts

try and get one of those propain tankes from wallmart that are used for soldering heat it up and get a nice heave hammer. it worked for me. as you get to higher leavels you will deff want nice rims. but they will all work.

if you try to straiten it use a deadblow hammer, nuthin with a metal head it is more likely to break that way

put it in a press. don't heat it up (permanently weakens cast aluminum) and don't hit it. I can explain how i do it if you want me to.

I used to beat the **** out of my back 1000 rim and it worked OK but I'd do what he suggested and put it in a shop press and bend it back that way.

heated mine up with a small torch and used a dead blow mallet........came out after a few good smacks, but you have to heat it or it will crack....

Re: anyone ever bend back a lip of a rim ??

I had one that was bent and split where the bead seats and had it bent and welded back. It worked for a long time as long as the tires weren't real hard.

Re: anyone ever bend back a lip of a rim ??

Only advice I got is like someone else said...don't use a metal hammer (or if you do, then use it on a piece of wood into the wheel) and if you do end up cracking it, jbweld works wonders...you can even sand it back and paint. Not sure heating it is a good idea-maybe on solid aluminum, but i gotta agree that it's not the best plan on cast(or at least that's what I've heard too)

Re: anyone ever bend back a lip of a rim ??

i've used a plastic mallet and it seemed to do the job...it was a small bend to begin with though, most likely strictly cosmetic...i guess it depends on how bad your damage is...good luck.
