Straightening Rotors??? Good Idea, or Bad????

I just put a 954 front end on my 900RR, and come to find that the ******* who sold me the rotors sold me one that was bent.

I've heard about people straightening the aluminum carriers back out, but want to know if that's a good idea. Once you bent that aluminum once, isn't it going to be more likely to just bend back again???

Anyone do this, or know anything about it?

Thanks.

You could have it re-surfaced but unless you have your own machine shop it's probably a hell of a lot better to just get a new rotor. The asshat that had that bike before most likely used race compound pads.

Is it bent, or warped from heat?

It's not warped....the carrier that hold the actual rotor to the wheel is bent. The aluminum webbing, if you will. The actual steel rotor is straight.

Thanks.

IF you do bend it back bend it back slow so you dont break it and it will bend back easier but hey if your gonan buy a new one try to bend it back first and see if it works and if it does cool if not get a new one i would get the A**whole who sold it to you replace it
