Whats low down on swapable parts between the two models.

I know the frames are the same

Forks / triples?
handle bars?
rotors and wheels?
Side plastics?
99-03 subframes?

are all of these components the same?

 

definately forks and triples and handle bars. Almost sure that the other stuff will swap too, but not 100% sure. I'm like 95% sure.

 

anyone else know???? i have an F4 and im about to get an F4i that needs a frame, what else is swapable

 

you can swap it all. I have both now. the only diff is the back wheel, you will need the cush drive that goes with the year rim, 99-00 has 5 cush rubbers, 01- up has 6. as far as i know thats it. hope this helps

 

the fairing stay is different too, because of the different headlight setup, but thats about the only difference that I know of FRAME and PLASTIC wise. If you swap an F4i sub frame to an F4, you will hafta kinda wrestle with the dampner hookups but thats the only issue that me and my buddy had.

 

what about tanks?? since they have the same frame im not sure? the f4i im gettin doesnt have a tank, i thought they were different but im not sure if it will still work. the only thing i can imagine it would have an issue is with hittin **** underneath.

 

pretty sure the tanks are different because the f4i tank has the fuel pump inside it

 

you should be able to swap out the fuel pump though. i have an f4i fuel pump for sale....75$

 

dude just get on ebay and get a new tank and then you will be done

 

you will need a f4i tank. their is no hole for the fuel pump in an f4 tank. you can get a pump from ebay for around $40 or less. 929 pump works also. call a bike salvage yard and you can get a slightly dented tank with pump cheap.
