sprokets...

i got a 03gixxer6 and cant clutch it up in 2nd. ive tried numerous times and everytime it only comes up about an inch or two. i want to change my gearing so i can easily clutch it up in 2nd and NOT lose too much top end. what should i go to? one day it will be a crunchy piece but not this summer.

Re: sprokets...

dont do anything.... learn to clutch it up with stock gearing.. that bike can do highchairs in second gear with a 300lb guy on the bars, no problem if you clutch it right

hey man go -1 on the front and +3 on the back, and you probably won't even have to get a new chain, and it will come up for sure in 2nd.

Mine will come up at 35 mph in 2nd on stock gears. I agree with the previous post. Practice then get the sprockets, you'll be a better rider learning with out them.

Re: sprokets...

getting bigger sprockets will not do anything but make 2nd gear feel like 1st gear. learn to clutch it right, stay on the gas and cover the brake.

i bet you arent revving it high enough before you slip the clutch.

and then you are probly slipping it too slow, and then i bet you arent staying on the gas after you slip the clutch
