learned clutch... now i can't power

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem...first learned to power them up... then read and researched (mostly on this site) starting learning clutchups...i've been doing those for about a month now... I went out last night to ride and tried powering one up in first and couldn't get it up over about 6 inches.. tried acouple more times and still couldn't ,, it kinda pissed me off but ohwell.. peace

May just be Rider Error, I realized when I learned to clutch up that I couldn't really power it up as well when I was only powering it up. But Oh well If you can clutch it now don't worry bout it.

Try getting it to about 20mph dip the throttle quickly to compress the forks then give it a load of gas... should come up no problem... practice, practice, practice.

...and cover that rear brake!

I learned to power first...I think powers are gahbage personally just dont like the feel of it. I just got clutching maybe a few days ago but I already luv it.

Practice is my advice, just play with where u chop the throttle at in the RPM range.

I learned to clutch, crashed, then was powering, now I clutch it again. Power wheelies suck, they're about ten times less predictable, and as you've found out, don't come up consistantly. Keep clutching it, no reason to go back to powering.

i honestly dont understand what people are doing wrong when powering a wheelie that makes them less predictable... on my 1k it powers exactly the same every time, feels more predictable than clutching, a smoother rise and it settles into balance point much better than clutching for me... Now for slow ****, yes i can see clutch is better, but im talking a 25-40mph wheelie...
