about the wheelie machine thing
Re: about the wheelie machine thing
Ive Ridden On One. A Buddy Of Mine Has One Out In Phoenix. He Simpley Mad A Bracket To Catch The Front Wheel When Coming Down From Wheelies. Has A Thick *** Rubber Pad On It. And Ther Rear Is Mounted To A Dyno. Has An A Bracket That Goes Thru The Rear Axle And Clamps On Both Sides Of The Rear Wheel. A Little Extra Oil And Its Ready To Go. *** Important You Need Something On The Front Wheel To Prevent You From Going Past 12 O'clock. My Buddy Used A Rock Climbing Rope And Atatched It To The Dyno. Make Sure Not To Have Too Much Slack, Measure The Rope Off With The Bike At 12..
Hope This Helps

Re: about the wheelie machine thing
alright, its on, I will have a wheelie machine buiilt within to weeks. Biggest problem is figuring out drum size and weight to keep the drum braking to a minimum. Im planning on the single drum design, but im considering going with a two wheel system
Re: about the wheelie machine thing
yeah i have been running the specifics through my mind all last night and have decided that a single drum system would be the best. Second im going to need to have a braking system (like dyno's) to fine tune the load put on the wheel as there is no way to have the drums inertia assimilate real road surface (IE wheel a 250 bike in 5th gear if the drum was too heavy or too hard to spin or on the opposite end, seem as if you are spinning the tires). For the braking system im thinking about using one side from the rear of a car with a cable actuated parking braking. As far as rotors and pads go im fine because lifetime warranty on pads from autozone (i work there) and 2 year warranty on rotors... (they might start to dislike me for this). Besides that its a real simple system that looks like a circle on top of a circle (wheel on top of drum) and a support rod that goes through my rear axle for the pivot point (i think most sportbike axles are hollow)... Any ways im starting the real planning today and ill se how it goes
Re: about the wheelie machine thing
a real dyno just meters the power, out side of that all a dyno is some drums linked together and a braking system that allows adjustable load (IE keeping a car or bike at one load point for fine tuning)
