Dropping damage (help, pic included)
Dropping damage (help, pic included)
Flame me if you want. Ive never dropped my bike before. I just need to know what can be done.
Dropped the bike for the first time today. I must be totally out of it, cuz I dropped my camera right after this pic too. What can I do about this? I have a whole nother parts engine in my garage, but these threads in the engine are totally broken out. One is on the outside, the other is on the inside. What can I do about this? I thought it was just the casing, but its definitly not. HELP!!
Re: Dropping damage (help, pic included)
look right to the right of the blue case. The darker engine case next to it has a peice broken off, and it broke down the thread grooves in the engine so that I cannot just bolt on a new casing. What can I do?
Re: Dropping damage (help, pic included)
Take it to a welder have them weld up the broken parts, then grind it down flat again, drill and re tap the threads. Buy a new engine cover and gasket and your done!
Seen it done many times..............YOU NEED TO GO TO A GOOD WELDER!

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think would happen if I just put my spare casing on it, and just sealed it with gasket sealer? and left those bottom 2 bolts unbolted? Do you think it would work?

Dont plan on dropping it like that again. Hopefully next time it will be when Im actually doing something, like learning 12s or something.
I just put sealer on it, didnt even JB it. Looks like it will probly hold. Im almost totally sure it will. I guess I will find out tommorrow when I fill it back up with oil and start'er up. Thanks for advice and help. When I get more time, I may take it apart again and fix it the right way.
