Who breaks their levers?

I've already gone through a few sets of levers this year from dumping my bike. Anyone else had this problem? Did you figure out a solution (other than not crashing )?

One of my friends recommended trying to modify ASV unbreakable MX levers so they would work on my 900RR. http://asvinventions.com/levers_order/

I was thinking of either doing that or maybe shaving of the ends of the levers so that my barends hit the ground first if I happen to dump the bike.

Let me know what you think. Lata

nick's right, cut em and smooth the ends out. I cut about 1.5-2" off my front brake and i use a MSR shorty for a clutch

yeah that depends on what kinda cage u got powers on a 900 will role to the tank every time...not sure about a freestyle on a 900 but i know they have been known to break motor mounts. i run 905 seems to work best for the 900, all bikes have different cages that work best with them

Re: Who breaks their levers?

I've NEVER broken a lever, but i've broken the mount clean off the master cylinder perch, shattered my kill switch/start button assembly on the right clip-on, and anihilated the high-low beam/turn signal assembly on the left clip-on. All in seperate crashes...I think I just have wierd luck.

Re: Who breaks their levers?

The brake lever i cut short. Leave just enough for 2 fingers.

The clutch side I cut short too, but I will be replacing it with one of those EZ pull levers, which are alot shorter and usually 'un-breakable'

Re: Who breaks their levers?

yeah o agree with mostly everyone else about cutting them. I just cut them in half (enough for two fingers) and then just smooth it out with a grinder

they make a setup for dirt bikes its a little chrome box that u run inline with your clutch cable it make it so its easier to pull the clutch in, cause u know how hard it is to pull in a stiff clutch with one finger they run like 30 bucks i think it kinda works like a pully system ya know, gse anthony bought one is pretty nice.

Look up the MSR Raptor clutch levers. They come in a shorty and they have a setting that supposidly makes the clutch pull 300% easier. Some of the guys down here just told me about them and it's definately a lot easier\comfortable to pull with 2 fingers. :YEAH

If you can't find them on the internet I know the stuntex.com website sells them too
