Quick Question???????
Yo Ive seen many run their bikes with no exhaust..........I just got a 636 and I love the bike but the damn exhaust keeps falling off at the midpipe.......My question is what consequences can arise from running no exhaust???.....The problem is fixed I just wanna know what happens in this case to the bike/motor?? Thanks........

they say if you run without headers you can do some damage, theres actual cold air hitting your exhaust valve and the cold air/hot gas breaks your valve.

Re: Quick Question???????
running the header for awhile would be ok other than stupid ****in loud. you would loose a bit of bottom end power since you have lost most of the back pressure the motor needs to run correctly.

When i cut down my Yoshi pipe 4" a week or 2 ago i turned my bike on and.... i dont know how you could possibly wanna ride somethin that F'in loud OMG. Made it sound badass but WAY to loud and i had a good laugh.

It doesn't???
How can you say this with such conviction and be so wrong??
Hummm....

I hear what your saying but thermal shock I don't think would break the valves. I have heard of them bending, but that's some old school stuff there. WIth the new materials I don't think this is as much of a problem.

Re: Quick Question???????
If changing the flow of your exhaust doesn't change your air/feul, than why do can manufacturers recomend you rejet your carbs after you change the exhaust? It changes back pressure for sure, but I think it also effects air/feul as well.

Re: Quick Question???????
Hmmmmm, back pressure, air/fuel mixture, intake, exhaust.....
Sounds like some are very confused
How could you possibly get a correct air/fuel mixture when your bike's exhaust is gone (no back pressue)...... Everything will be leaving the engine before it ignites.....
Try leaving the bike the way it should be and run an exhaust. Have someone fabricate something for you, running with no can is hella loud too.... Asking cops to pull you over.

Re: Quick Question???????
I really didn't even want to respont to this cause it's so frickin dumb. However, I wouldn't do it if you paid me too.
Look, the bike will not absolutly run right because you are drastically changing how fast the exhaust is expelled, this in turn effects back pressure and fueling. Exhaust systems are not just waste pipes bolted on to annoy you. Why the hell do you think you get hp gains from certain aftermarket exhausts,,,hmmm. And if taking the system off would make it faster and better don't you think a whole lot of people would do that,,,hmmmm.
see the deal is this if you run lean with a high compression motor you will burn your pistons and with a high reving motor it happens really really quick. Not that you'll notice right away but eventually your pistons will have to be changed,,by the way,,,it's a pain in the azz.
Tell you what if your gonna run around town without an exhaust system cause it's neato why don't you remove the air cleaner too cause that thing MUST NOT do anything and your much smarter than the engineers that designed that system. (sorry I don't me to be so sarcastic but common). Do you want your ride to last a while or are you just gonna trash it.
If anyone gets mad at me,,, go for it, but I am right.

Why R U busting on this guy. He asked a question and wanted to know if or what... The question was answered and I bet he is gonna do whatever he;s gonna do. Now this late in the thread your Flamen on him...
LAME!!
Why would it run Hotter lean? Is the question to KUFOOL.
RU Sure it would run lean without a header???
