sprockets...

I am running a 51 tooth in the rear and I keep rippin teeth and bending the tips of em. I need a harder metal, but all I can find em in is that light weight aluminum. They last me about 3 months. Is there a way I can keep from screwin em up so fast or a harder metal sprocket out there? TIA

Re: sprockets...

I agree...525 (good o-ring chain), Thrust sprocket, and keep chain properly adjusted and you should be good for a long while

Re: sprockets...

Do the 520 sprockets just screw up that easily? I believe mine came w/ a 530 setup stock. Will that lightweight aluminum hang in there better w/ a 525 or 530 setup? Whats the biggest steel sprocket any1 makes?

Re: sprockets...

As long as you rock 525 or 530 I think you'll be ok with the alluminum sprockets. Not sure what the biggest steel ones are sorry.

Re: sprockets...

the biggest that i have been able to find that is a +5 for an f3, they just weigh too much and are would cost more to make

mine was an RRP, that i got from sprocketcenter.com but moto-heaven is the way to go, phil will take care of it and get you your stuff fast as hell,

btw r6 comes with a 525 stock, most kits that you buy are 520 cause they are cheaper.

Re: sprockets...

Ive owned both a 2001 and 2003 R6's and they both come with 532 chains. My 636 came with a 520 stock though and as long as you buy a good chain and maintain it you shouldnt have that problem. A DID 520 ERV3 has a higher tensile strength than a some cheap 530.

Re: sprockets...

You can also but a blank steel sprocket from automotive suplly stores, and machine out the holes. They come in all kinds of sizes. The blank sprockets are about $15-20, and I'm sure you can find a buddy to machine the holes for free.

Re: sprockets...

I forget the style chain thats on my bike now, but its a 520 chain that retailed at $120. I got it cheaper w/ my discount, its a damn nice chain tho, but it eats up those 520 rear sprockets like nothin' !!!
