depends on your riding style.

Generally i find 600's better for parkin lot and technical stuff, its harder to stall them, you can get a little bit more aggressive with the throttle on circles and stuff, and they are lighter.

I think having the torgue of a 750 or 1000 on the street is nice, easier to pickup tank tricks and more power to play with. I make do with my 600 on the street just cause that is the bike i was riding, now my style has adapted to it. For example, i can't pick up a spreader at 45 mph on it, so i have to do a standup, usually in 4th gear, then jump to the tank, which lets me do spreaders at the speed of traffic on the highway.

It sounds to me like you are going to be learning, and for that i would suggest the 600, more forgiving.

I agree go for a 600 here is why.

liter bikes are completely non-forgiving on the throttle a little too much and brother your going down.

liter bikes have much higher insurance

600s are pretty much just as fast with the exeption of the 150 plus zone and they have a lot less low end grunt. Again, back to throttle control.

600s are a little bit (not much) easier on the wallet for parts

they are a lot less intimidating to get used to therefore you get comfortable faster

they aren't really lighter nowadays but they do feel smaller and are easier to manhandle.

the best fraze I ever heard regarding 600s vs liter bikes. "600s CAN kill you,,,liter bikes WANT to kill you".

The best stunters I know personally had 600s first or still have 600s

I have both a gixxer 1K and an r6... I bought the r6 to learn slow stuff because my liter bike is just too powerfull for me to be comfortable on for slow stuff.
My gixxer is just scary to clutch in first gear(yes I'm a squid). I'm sure after I gain more skill with practice it will be fine. But for now I need something a bit more forgiving.

you aren't a squid cause you can admit this! you are perfectly correct in what you said, 1000 is harder to learn with cause it requires better control! 600's are easier to learn on. keep up the practice guys!!!

correct me if im wrong but... a litre bike is 1000cc's (1 litre) of displacement a 750 is like 3/4 of a litre bike... the way i see it

okay i gots an fzr 600 ´90 with a big sprocket on it.. still i have almost NO torque to play with and i am going for a 96 or older Blade RR (in that case adjust the motor, i could use some pointers so PM me please). will that be so much trouble to adjust to? i think i wil be fine though..

And to be a technical a$$hole, really NONE of the popular big bores are "liter" bikes, they are all 988cc and 998cc, LOL ok im done being an a$$ now!

Da Liks, sorry, i don't feel like PMing, but yeah you will be able to adapt fairly quick. I can see by your avater that you have brake control and BP, and the RR's are smooth, so you'll be just fine, take your time getting used to it, but you should be comfortable on it by the end of the first day.

i don't know anything about RR's (need to know about GSXR's im your guy), but a lot of guys on here do

Do a search first: search for "RR oil pickup mod" and stuff like that

If a search gets you nowhere, then post up a new thread and someone will be able to help

the newer gsxr750s are closer to a literbike than a 600. they have the same power as a few year old R1 or any honda and about the same weight as either. 900rr aren't literbikes either but for ease of terminology 900rrs and 750s are usually lumped in with the literbikes because they are more like literbikes than 600s.
