how did you mark the proper spot on your fairing when you did your drilling? i'm havin a fun time trying to make sure everything is lined up so i'm not drilling the wrong spot. Tried using a marker, but doesn't really seem like it's an accurate way to judge.
Here's a pic to show an idea if my engrish ain't doin to well...

On top of that, drilling the right side isn't easy to mark either as the bar is welded on... thoughts? thnx!

i stuck a pencil though the whole in your pic, then marked it with a sharpe.
i used a hole driller (the ones with a drill bit to get you started) and drilled the first side.
on the other side i held the cage up and kinda eyeballed it. i got lucky, ony had to drill once.
once you have the hole in the left side, you can measure that then transfer it to the other side.

loosen the bolt that its going to connect to, stick some playdough on the inside of the fairing and push the bolt against the fairing, thats exactly where your hole needs to be. will leave a perfect impression of the bolt

put a marker through the hole, make a small hole with a drill bit. then gradually open it up with the bit. dont make it big enough for the other bar to go through. then do the same on the other side. once you have both holes started, gradually make them bigger until the cage goes on.
for the top mounts, find the mount, drill a small hole, make it 1 1/4" big. it should slide right in.

i swear you guys are retarded who cant put on cages
just drill a fukin hole and put the cage on. just make sure the hole looks clean, if someone wants to buy your bike later, tell them it helps the motor breathe and adds 3 HP

ahahahaha naw i've installed my drill sliders using the marker then drilling the pilot hole, but it's different because it's on an angle for the mxd cage. that right side doesn't help for marking the pilot hole either...
i'll probly get a chance to do eet later today

yeah you need to get both holes made before putting the right side on. you need to have the left one started and almost there, then you make the right side hole completely. its a big guess really.....i hate doing installs cuz everyone *****es if you go 1/8" bigger than they want
.........once you have the right side done, hold it up to the mounts and then finish the left side. hope this helps, if you need anything else, hit me up
