quad with street bike motor
has anyone ever put a street bike motor in a quad?....................I have an 87 quadzilla.....and a 97 yzf-1000 motor and would like to put it in...........if anyone has any helpful advice or knows anyone who has done please post
Re: quad with street bike motor
as long as you have the wiring harness and everything to make the motor run you'll be fine. Of course you are gonna need a welder to modify the frame so the motor will bolt up. Just make sure the sprockets line up and there is clearance for everything when the suspension moves.

I Also Have A Friend That Put A Zx 9 Motor In A Warrior Frame. It Is A Pain In The ***. And Because Of The Rear Motor Mount Design It Had To Be Ridden With A Strut. So It Was Bouncy As Hell. Also Used The Ignition And Gas Tank Off Of The Bike. Twist Throttle And All. It Can Be Done And If You Have A Welder It Would Be Fairly Easy. But Be Careful When You Go To Ride It. Test Out The Welds First By Going In 1st Gear Figure Eights. This Frame Will Flex Alot And You Dont Want A Weld To Break While Going At A Good Speed.
