Re: more hb help

hook up the mity vac to the nipple on the caliper, open the bleeder, start pumping, watch the master oil level till its just about empty then REFILL (DO NOT LET IT GO EMPTY OR YOU WILL START OVER) i usually run 2-3 full resy's before shutting the bleeder valve and closing things up. put the resy cap back on and enjoy good brakes. if you can get good brakes then zip tie the lever back to the bar and let it sit over night. there may be an air bubble that your not getting out and it will creep up to the resy over night.

Re: more hb help

I stumbled across a way to bleed it quick. It seems I don't have to pump the front or back first to get a good lever feel either. Here is what I did.

First made sure the rear line was bleed well, then mounted front master Cylinder, and ran line to rear cylinder, not hooking it up yet. Bleed line until fluid came out, then hooked it to the GP tech fitting, which was mounted to the rear cylinder with screw, and additional hose clamp. Here's where I think the important part is.

4 different bleedings here.

First I bleed the line from the front HB to the GP tech fitting. Do this as you would think, Pump the front HB lever and hold, brake loose the line at the GP Tech fitting, re-tighten line. Don’t let lever go until you re-tighten line. Do this until you have a good feel on the front lever.

Second. Bleed the rear cylinder and line. Pump the foot lever until you get a good feel to it. Hold it down and brake loose the line at the rear caliper still holding down foot lever, Tighten line still holding lever down reach up to the front handbrake and pump that until you feel the foot lever rise. I had to pump the front lever a couple of times to get the foot lever all the way back up. Repeat this a couple of times. Always make sure you have brake fluid in the upper reservoir. This being the most important step make sure you don’t let the foot lever up make sure it is pumped up by the front HB lever.

Third Pump front HB and hold and brake loose line at rear caliper, tighten line and repeat. This bleeds the whole system.

Forth Repeat the second step. This will make sure the rear cylinder is full and pumped up.

Re: more hb help

Pump slowly, if you pump it fast it's gonna mess the airbubbles into the fluid, it makes so microscopic bubbles the fluid just looks grey.

Anyway it may take lot of time, even front brakes are sometimes ***** to bleed. You need tap the lines, bleed, slowly pump, bleed, tape the lever to the bar and leave it over night. don't attact the handbrake to the bar yet, this way you can turn it around and get the air out better.

Just stick to it. Wait over night, then do some bleeding again.

u have no idea wtf u r talkin about. and a set up from FTI would run around $300-$325 including a master. personally i have, with a line, $140 in my dual caliper set up.

Re: more hb help

[has anyone every used those speed bleeders, soposable you can just open them and pump away, and all the air goes out and no air in it has a one way valve in it, just wondering if they work.

you can either make ur own by getting another f2/f3 rear brake caliper and bracket, you cut the bracket and fit it to the other, have sumone weld it and know u have 2 brakets and caliper. you get a master cyliner, res., and lever, a 70inch line and hook it up and bleed it. or if u go with FTI they give u a new rear brake MC that has 2 fittings for lines and goes right where ur stock one is. so u run ur stock line back to the caliper and run ur HB line off the second fitting to the MC under ur clutch. i spent bout 140$ and it wont beeld fully, although ive only tried once, FTI will run u bout 300-325 if u get there kit. personally id rather save the 185$ for sumthing else. the dual caliper is def a lil more comlicated but when its done it works jsut as good. mark from mpz who does hc O's run a dual caliper

Re: more hb help

u can also rig something up (see sticky in OM forum) to make ur own FTI master cyl. thats wat most people seem to be doing lately but i think thats kind of a risky set up so i went with dual caliper
