how do you get your stunt team name copywrited ?

what did u have to go through ? and how much did everything cost ?

just go to a local attorney, they can handle it for you.

 

go to state something...
register the name thats all...

different if you want to make it a business, but do just get the name so no one else can have it etc....its simple

 

copyrighted????? just protect your name with Rugers name protection device, I beleive Glock and Smith&Wesson have a similar system(joking by the way)

Your best bet and cheapest would be too go to your states website, ex. (www.mi.gov). Look up the copywriting in a search. Print out the forms and send them in with the check. In Michigan it costs like $50.00, pretty cheap compared to some attorneys that I heard charging like $150.00+. It will take like a month or so before you get the confirmation in the mail, but you can track it online if you want. What state are you in? I think I have the forms if you want them, let me know..

P.S. I beleive you can also do a name search on that site as well to see if the name is already taken!

 

just type in copywright in a search engine, the website will come up. then you do a search and if your name isnt taken, you pay a fee and its yours.

i wouldnt go to a lawyer, they will charge you 3000 to do something that only takes an hour. the only time you really need a lawyer is if you are getting a patent, and thats because most of them know the guys at court and have a better chance of getting the patent through, not because its hard to apply for a patent.

Mail yourself a letter. Get the US postal stamp on it and make sure your stunt name is in the one you address it to.

I heard...that this was the best way. Cuzz then you get it stamped by a federal agency and that's your proof that the Stunt Team name exist and is at this location.

Better then spending money on getting a copyright.

 

all this proves is you know where you live!!! a mail stamp and stamp from post office mean absolutely nothing..........believe me....you do that tell me your team name and I'll still be able to get it copyrighted!!! remember the BS with the WWF logo??? the world wildlife federation owns it now because it was never properly take by the now WWE(saw it on the news----yes a TV CAN be used for something other than ****)

searched for the name i was loking for.. and it has not been used..

now i need to figure out how exactly the get it copywrited.

 

Once your on the GOV site, you should be able to print out the forms for a copywrite.. Fill em out and I think the fee is 50 bucks.. real easy!

Oh, add some stunts so we can see if the team is worth the name. On a sidenote, I just registered my teams website. That should be good enough, if anyone tries to use the name after, they look like a dumbass... That or they promote your site.
www.godaddy.com and you're looking at around 20 bux for the www.xxx.com for 2 years and then annother 20 or so for 100 meg of webspace and 25 gig bandwith. Sweet. Oh, and you can't take www.sektorxii.com cuz it's mine.

2. Pay 15 bucks to register www.yourstuntteamsname.com
3. Make a website
4. Know that no one else can take your name because they would feel dumb since you have the website.
