F4i's suck at...
starting..i just bought a bike from a auction, and it was a theft recovery.. I picked it up lastnite, batt was dead, so i jumped it, started it, ran alright for a min. then took off the cables, and it died...ok so bad batt.. then tonight i changed the oil and put in a batt from my other f4i. tried to start her..wouldn't start.. so hooked up my buddies brand new batt, and she kept crankin but wouldn't turn over. checked for spark, there's spark..smells like fuel is pumpin through... NEED SOME HELP!! **** still won't start, and i need to do some street ridin! lemme know some ideas thanks

yeah dude, bike sat to long and plugs got corrosion on em. i use to have to push start my kawi after my plugs got bad. put in new plugs then WHAM she fired up like a hooker at a truck stop bath room

if it starts when you jump it and it dies after you diconect the jupers then that means your rectifier is no good. try swaping that out from you other bike and jump it and see if it will run after you take off the jumpers.

Im willing to bet bread its a loose wire in the ECU. The ECu being right above the batt as a tendency to create loose wires since it becomes moved alot during batt removal and installation. Takes some needle nose pliers and gently push in all the connectors going into the ECU. I had a major problem a month ago, wouldn't catch for ****, but cranked all day. Went through everything and ended up being a loose wire. The placement of the ECU is faulty if you ask me.

could be the rectifier, but it should still start, HAVE NEW PLUGS IN IT, don't treat me like a child****head... i'm thinkin it's some type of wiring issue, the fuel pump kicks on, and it's not throwin codes...i figure if i actually have some time tonight to crank on her she will run... just sucks i need a complete day to get her up n goin

plugs.. 1 they are old and have been sitting. 2, they are old and have been sitting, 3, you have been cranking on it alot and havent run the bike much, 4 the plugs are old.
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE EFFECTS OF SHITTY SPARKPLUGS. Seriously. I have taken bikes apart and went through all kinds of hell and it was plugs. Put new plugs in it.
I bet you one of our brand new bad *** stuntex oil pan mods for the F4i that changing the plugs will fix your problem.

It really could be the ECU. Mine was theft recovery also, and when we won the auction, it didnt run, so statefarm took it to a dealer, and paid for a new ecu because the old one was fried. I was just stoked that they paid for all of it.

fvck man, u deff got hooked up... i hope it's not the ecu..oh well if it is looks like my stunt bike won't have one anymore! or i'll just switch haha..gotta love havin a stunt bike layin around.... mine blew on my gix1k, picked one up off ebay for like 80 bucks
