Sticky Throttle

What do you guys suggest doing to make my throttle on my F2 not stick anymore, its a combination of the grip/throttle itself (i rolled back the end of the grip and it atleast turns closed on its own but not very freely) i have my F2 ripped down to the top of the carbs, so i can see the throttle linkage and all that good stuff. Ive tried sprayin the linkage down/workin it in but didnt get much for results.

Re: Sticky Throttle

well your goining to have to track down the problem.
possible problems:

grip is rubbing
cables need lube
throttle tube needs lube
cable slack needs adj
throttle tube might be getting caught up inside throttle housing

thats about all I can think of besides cables being totally shot

thats about right....shoot some white lithium down the cables, trim the end of the grip a little bit away from the bar end. and check your throttle cable slack. if the pull or return are too tight it will stick.

Re: Sticky Throttle

Cable tension seems fine (checked them) the grip is rubbing, but even after folding it away from the end it still doesnt return very fast.

Im guessing the lube would fix it. Atleast i hope... how do you tell if the cables are shot?

Sorry for the noob Questions. Im new to workin on bikes... give me a chevy 350 and id be fine .

How exactly do you trim that end of the grip... its the part next to the kill switch not the outside end.

Im also doing everything possible to not screw with the carbs... ive heard there a PITA so they arnt goin anywhere.
