Steering Head Bearings

Steering Head Bearings

How important is maintence on these. I have mine tightened a little too much...am I asking for it by doing this?

mine are fukked, they have about a 1/2 inch of play in them lol. i dunno if it hurts anything, but my front end didnt fall off yet!

very important. it affects the handling of your bike. if they are too loose then it smacks when you come down from a wheelie and dents the races and ruins the bearings which will cause it to ride like ****. it also damages the steering stem. I had to replace my triple because of this on my 929.

too tight causes it to handle funny and smash the bearings.
