Re: Fixing sticky throttle on an F2

My friends throttle was sticking on his 88 Hurricane and we found out that the bar end was just too tight. Loosened it and everything was fine.

i replaced the plastic tube that is under the grip,
i cleaned the bar off before i put it back on too.
i trimmed the end of the grip so it wouldnt snag on the barend,
i lubed the cable and down by the tb's.

might have to look into a new return spring,

good luck.

Re: Fixing sticky throttle on an F2

check to make sure its not sticking because of the grip first. Check the bar end and check where the grip meets the throttle housing. If that is good check the cable adjustment. If the cables arent adjusted right it will stick. You should have about 5mm of play in the throttle. If it still sticks after that get some new cables. They arent expensive.

Re: Fixing sticky throttle on an F2

if you pull the throttle off, clean it real good but DO NOT lube it with anything. some people spray wd40 and **** in there, it will work for a little bit, but the oil attracts dirt and then it will be worse

Re: Fixing sticky throttle on an F2

The same thing happened to my bike. I opened up the clipon next to the throttle (engine cut off switch) and lubed the throttle cables with WD-40! It fixed the problem and now no sticky throttle!!

Re: Fixing sticky throttle on an F2

its ur cables. There are two cables, one needs to be adjusted tighter. Under the throttle there is a like metal tube that comes straight out and then turns, try adjusting that with the finger adjustment. If that doesn't do it you'll have to take your tank off and figit with the cables and the throttle bodies. Mine always stuck till i messed with em and we have to *** with em everytime we take my buddies carbs off.
