you do have more engine break.... but if you can learn on stock gears or only -1 on the drive gear it will make you alot better. so when your ready to start slowin your wheelies down and such you'll have the exp. with the clutch..etc, etc.

I say gear it to f!@# my man :YEAH :YEAH :YEAH i don't know what you have, but i rode -1 for a while and yeah you et better when you finally gear it, it is so easy, but i say gear it from the start and you will have the feel right away because it will take less effort for you to pick it up, keep it up ,and get confortable being in a wheelie for periods of time- then you will pick them up higher everytime until you are rocking back and forth 11 to 12 o'clock straight up.
just remember when you gear it go like -1 in the front and +10 in rear if you're serious about doing slow ****, and always cover the rear brake- hold ear brake down a little before you pick it up and release as the bike starts to come up, then cover again to keep from going over, when you get to that height. safe riding and good luck :YEAH
