Angry Cant get it up

Please help. I have an RC51 and I cant seem to get it up. I can power it in first, but cant seem to get the clutch right in second. I can just tug it in second with the clutch but i am told by everyone it does not need to be tugged. When I do tug it, the damn thing about loops on me.

Re: Cant get it up

stock gearing on an 03 rc51 will not let you wheelie in second gear with clutch. at least for me. I'm gonna go 2 up in the back next spring. My friend had an 02 and went two up. He clutched it and it came up like butter.

Rc are really not stunt bikes. They dont like to wheelie as much as the super hawk.Of course my suspension is set up for ridin so that hinders the wheelies (ie almost full stiff on back spring). Its tough to endo also. I have kevlar breaklines and the wheel still hops on me because of the weight. My 600 rr endos real well with stock everything. I can also clutch it in 2nd and get it up (standups) just so you dont think that I dont know how to do wheelies properly.

Get a stunt bike if you wanna stunt. (pimp out the rc)

Re: Cant get it up

Got 2 up in the rear. Not trying to all out stunt the bike, just want to do a few wheelies at time. Nothing like the feeling of using the force. :YEAH

Re: Cant get it up

id say a stock geared rc51 should come up in 2nd...just throw more clutch and revs at it.

Def won't. But two up un the rear (sittin down no less) no bouncin and it comes right up. Just double twist the throttle, get it about 10k rpm and let the clutch fly.

Re: Cant get it up

The only times that my RC is willing to come up off the clutch in second is when it is very cold outside, or coming out of a good curve and i wrench it on. I think that i am about to go down one in the front to help me some more. I bring it up in first and then shift to second and it still comes down.

if you bring it up in first and shift into second and it falls on you then u must not be at bp unless there is something wierd about the rc51's that i dont know (which is possible...i ride suzuki). try bringing it up a little higher in first then shift into second. and be sure that ur not usin the clutch to shift from 1st to 2nd in a wheelie...

Man there must be something in the air over that part of the world cause if ya can't get a RC51 up in 2nd with stock running gear something is going on??? I found that the SP2(as there known in AUS) was one of the easiest things to bring up off the throttle in 1st and it sure as hell comes up in 2nd gear with only a little clucth, if ya bounce then its even easier again!!! The amount of torquw things generate being a twin you should not need to change sprockets to wheelie, just learn better technique in my book

Re: Cant get it up

I had problems clutching my **** up for a while... then i adjusted the clutch right at the end so a light tap would disengage it, and i havent had any problems since. I got a friend with an rc51 and he brings it up all day on throttle and a light bounce... hope this helps

Re: Cant get it up

Thanx guys. I am still trying. I am getting it up in second right now, just need to learn to keep it up. I have not yet found the balance point (on purpose). I get it to around 60 mph an then clutch it up. Everyone is now telling me that is too fast to clutch it up. What gives????????? Would running full synthetic oil make any difference? My bike is stock except for a pc2.

My boy had the first year that came out and he could pick that thing up in 3rd like cake. Stock everything. You just need to practice more
