yes as long as you put a plate light on it, then it would be legal...i would just say **** it and not bother but thats my opinion

yeah stay without the light unless you get busted for it. technically i think all states require a light over the plate but most everyone I know that doesn't ride a harley has it tucked in front of the rear wheel or on the swingarm with no light so it can't be seen too well even in the day.

i never had a light on mine and never took any grief for it. for that matter i used to have it on a swivel also so i could kick it up and make it parallel to the ground if need be. cops never said anything about it.

alot of it depends on how big ********* the cops are, you know what they say in texas everythings bigger...even the ******** cops....

if you ride at night just get a little light for it, up a wire right from the battery to a toggle switch on the handlebars and from the bars to the light so that you can flip it off if needs be. That swivle thing is a great idea to.

it was nice while it lasted, i didnt have it on very securely though so i could kick it up quickly and i finally broke it off. I need to find a more stable place to put it so i can redo it.
