Turn that **** up. Then you can do whatever at slow speeds.

true.........crank it up and leave it,,,,,unless you are doing any tank or seat stander wheelies then it obviously needs to go back down

Re: idle ? for the pros?

**Question** if someone is starting to learn slow shi7 should they start with the idle low around 2k and work their way up or should they turn that shi7 up to 3k or 4k right from the start? My bike is carburated and I was told by one guy that carburated bikes need high idle to slow it down. Another guy told me to start with the idle at 1.5k/2k I tried at 1.5k and I was all over that throttle, at 4k my **** is alot smoother and slower, plus I have to work on my back brake. What's the advantage of have the idle at either 1.5k or at 4k?

I think idle up is cheesy.
If your really good you can still circle and bust no handers although not as good. But i think it looks better. Its a style thing.
Check out christian pfeiffer.

I learned how to slow my wheelies down with no idle. Later on i wanted to learn no handed stuff. So i turned the idle to 4000RPM's. It was a lot easier cuz the bike did all the work and all i had to do was be aggressive with the rear brake. The down fall was, i would go to fast because the idle was so high, and my style was sketchy.
Now i keep my idle at 2200RPM'S for all no handed stuff and circles with left foot on passenger seat and rear handbrake stuff. With the RPM'S being lower, it allows me to creep a lot slower without the bike stalling out. The only time i ever have my idle at 3000RPM'S is when i do circles using the left passenger peg.

Hope that helps.

It doesn't matter if it's carbed or fi, use the idle whereever you feel comfortable and learn what works for you.

Re: idle ? for the pros?

2500 rpms, the lower the better. you'll be better on brake control if you learn when it's lower. also, when you drop the bike doing a circle or something it will drive off and hit something if it's up really high.....i wadded a set of forks and front wheel with the idle at 4k because of that.

lower is harder, but it makes you smoother on the brake.
